Joining in

Can you play a musical instrument?  Playing regularly in an orchestra is a great way of developing your skills and making friends too!

We are always keen to recruit more players - especially cello, viola and violin players.  If you can commit to regular attendance at rehearsals and can play pieces around Grade 7 standard or above, then why not give us a go!  You are welcome to come and watch a rehearsal or talk to a current member.  Members do not need to audition.

Members are expected to not miss more than one rehearsal and pay subscriptions twice a year. You are not expected to be note perfect at the beginning, but practice parts are available so that you will be able to play most of the right notes in the right place in time for the concert. Members are also expected to sell tickets to friends for concerts.

Can you help Letchworth Sinfonia in another way?

Obviously coming to our concerts is a great form of support, but if you want to do more we would appreciate your help:


  • Are you a graphic designer?  We are looking for someone to add flair to our posters and programmes
  • Can you help us place posters around Letchworth to advertise the concert?
  • Please let your friends and family know all about the concert, and encourage them to attend
  • On the day of the concert we need help setting up the hall, and selling programmes and refreshments
  • Are you a good photographer?  We are always on the look out for new pictures to use in publicity material and on this website!  In future we may be interested in video or sound recordings as well.
